Local Shmocal

   You hear it all the time these days about shopping local.  Support your local buisness, local farmer, local vet, local morgue, ya know.  Well, it really is important and I'll tell you why.  I have a local buisness.  That's why.  The only reason.  No really, now that I have my own buisness I understand this concept, this way of life so much clearer.  When you support a local buisness, that money goes almost directly back into the community.  Not everything can unless that business is also buying it's supplies from local sources.  Ofte

The Bigger Market

  Today was delivery day yet again.  Jetting from store to restaurant to coffee shop to store, I had my eyes opened yet again.  I drove into the parking lot of the large dock at our biggest store nestling my little Subaru between two semis.  I grabbed my case and walked up the stairs that led to the back loading area.  I was astounded by the stacks of brightly colored packages.  The rainbow of plastics, all wrapped neatly in cellophane and more plastic.  In this one warehouse there was enough trash to take up enough space to fill a parking lot....a big one

Farmers Markets

Well the farmers market scene is winding down.  We are now done with the Milwaukee Farmers Market at Beans and Barley.  It was a fun one.  The last Andersonville Farmers Market is tomorrow and I am sad yet incredibly relieved to be done with that one.  Andersonville is a rainbow flag waving town with culture and coolness seeping from the brick buildings.  We had a great time working our little booth there.  The first test market that we had I had several people run up very excited about Kombucha being there, and then far more people that had no idea what Kombuc
