Oh strangeness!

This week has been in short....just weird.  Many different things have been happening.  Some good, but a lot of not so good.  People around me have been having troubles of all kinds, myself included.  However, as I reflect on it and take a giant step back, I see that in the grand scheme of things this is life.  Life is always full of ups and downs and we have to handle them whatever they may be.  Some things we can change and other things we can't and we have to make do with what we have the best way we know how to.  There is the scare of illness all around us.  When I actually do watch television, which isn't that often, it seems unreal to me.  We are bombarded with nonsense, propaganda, negative images and stupidity.  There are some very good and interesting things on T.V. but there are always those little annoying commercials for prescripton drugs dominating the airwaves.

Generally I am a very positive creature, but lately it has been a challenge, especially when I let it be.  These days I feel like it is especially important to look at the positive things in your life.  Because really, it could be much, much worse.  I see my beautiful little apartment that is warm and comfortable.  I have sturdy shoes, a well working car, wonderful friends and the greatest kids.  I am very blessed.  The not so great things in my life can be resolved, or let go.  The moon is waning and it's the perfect time to let the things that don't nourish us fall away.

Your life is a precious gift.  Be good to yourself and make sure that you take care of your health physically, mentally and emotionaly.  When you are well you are in a much better place to care for those around you.  Be well within your community.  We need to support eachother in hard times.  Winter is coming and with it darkness, a time to rest, reflect and come together close to the hearth.  We all have different views, beliefs and backgrounds but in the end we all need food, shelter, water and a safe place to rest our heads.  No one should be denied these essential things.

A fun task to assign yourself is to do one act of random kindness a day.  Do it for no reason other than to do it.  Compliment someone, hold a door open, maybe even just smile at someone.  It ripples, and we all benefit from kindness.

May your plate always be full, your glass never empty and your Kombucha fizzy.  Have a great day.
