Welcome to our new show, Booch 'N Bitch!  Each episode features a new craft kombucha cocktail recipe, an interview with someone doing cool things in Madison, Wisconsin, and a random comedy bit.

In this introduction we meet Vanessa and Alla of NessAlla Kombucha, and they have a conversation with bartender and promoter Jeanette. Dylan Brogan appears in a Bill Chuckers rant.

The Dylan Brogan Cocktail Recipe:

1 1/2 oz. Death's Door Gin
1 oz. Nessalla Oolong Kombucha
1/2 oz. St. Germain liqueur
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1/4 oz. Grand Marnier
Two Dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Lilac Cantaloupe Collins Cocktail Recipe:

1 1/2 oz. Lilac Cantaloupe Simple Syrup


2 oz. Death's Door Gin

Shake with ice and pour into a highball reserving the ice

Finish with NessAlla Juniper Rose Kombucha

Seven Day SCOBY Time Lapse

June 21, 2012

This is a time lapse production filmed by Tona Williams of Big Bite Productions.  It is the formation of a Kombucha SCOBY over a period of 7 days.  It was done at the NessAlla Kombucha Kitchen in Madison, Wisconsin.  Music by Vanessa Tortolano featuring Julia McConahay on Violin.  A SCOBY is a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast.  It metabolizes the sugar and caffeine in the Kombucha mixture creating a protective barrier for the fermentation of the tea.
